Star Citizen Loaner Ships for 2.4 and 2.4.1

UPDATE: See Alpha 3.4 Loaner Ship Info CLICK HERE

Why do I have a Constellation Andromeda and a P-52 Merlin in my ship list but not in my hangar?

On the Port Olisar ship deck and you will see a Constellation Andromeda and a P-52 Merlin in the ship selection screen as replacements for any non flight ready ships that you own that are larger than a Freelancer.

Why do I have a F7C Hornet in my ship list but not in my hangar?

If the ship you purchased is not yet flight ready you will see a F7C Hornet in your ship selection list in Port Olisar. If the ship you own that is not yet flyable is similar in size or smaller than a Freelancer then you will receive an F7C hornet to fly around the verse with.

General Loaner Ship Info

If you have purchased a ship that is not yet flight ready you will receive a loaner ship to fly around Crusader system until your ship is flyable. During Alpha 2.4, 2.4.1 and on if the space ship you have purchased is not yet flyable you will receive a loaned ship instead to use in the Public Universe around the planet Crusader in Stanton System.

Non flyable ships larger than a Freelancer receive a Constellation Andromeda and P-52 Merlin as replacement ships.

Non flyable ships similar or smaller in sized than a Freelancer receive a F7A Hornet as a replacement.

Please note that the loaner ships do not appear in your hangar and only the ships you purchased will be able to be loaded into the hangar.

Can I Use A Ship Rented With REC In Port Olisar and Around Crusader?

No. Only ships that you own Prior to Alpha 2.4 it was possible to use ships rented with REC in Port Olisar and around the Crusader planet. However, since 2.4 (including 2.4.1 and probably future updates) it is no longer possible to “rent” ships for use in the public universe.

Why Are The Ships I Rented Not Showing Up In The Ship Selection Screen At Port Olisar?

As of 2.4 and on ships that have been rented using REC are no longer available for use in Port Olisar and around Crusader. Only ships purchased with UEC and Real Money on the RSI website will be available for use in the Public Universe. Ships rented with REC are still available in Arena Commander and will continue to be.

Why Can We No Longer Use Rented Ships In Port Olisar?

REC are credits that are earned by playing the simulated games in Arena Commander and eventually in Star Marine. The simulator exists in the Star Citizen universe as a separate place to test weapons, ships and PVP combat skills. Only UEC will be usable in the Public Universe / Star Citizen. As the game continues to be developed the separation between UEC purchases and REC purchases will continue to grow. Eventually the only items available for use in Star Citizen will be those purchased with UEC or earned / found in the verse. REC credits earned in the simulator will only go towards renting ships and items in Arena Commander and Star Marine simulations.
