About this document

This document is not complete. Due to the massive amount of binding changes and complexity not every binding has been tested. Additionally, during Alpha 3.10 PTU some controls have kept changing. These key bindings could already be out of date so please double check. This page will continue to be updated over time.

Useful Controls For Star Citizen Alpha 3.10

Star Citizen Alpha 3.10 introduces a new flight model as well as other changes and improvements to gameplay and key mappings.

  • Money (aUEC) & Prison Merits can now be transferred between players using Mobiglas MO Trader app - F1
  • Combat methodology has changed almost entirely with changes to targeting and flight
  • Changes to Sub-Component Targeting key mappings
  • Additional pilot look ahead options
  • Virtual joystick (VJoy) controls options added
  • VJoy can cause some issues in turrets, Q to disable VJoy in turrets
  • Ship armor now affects damage absorption and stealth
  • Turrets have been enhanced
  • Players can now do things while seated such as open inventory, eat food, wipe the visor or interact with weapons
  • Mining can be done in vehicles with the introduction of the ROC mining vehicle
  • Ship Paints can be purchased at shops and applied to ships
  • Body Dragging - Players can now move bodies by interacting

Issues and workarounds:

  • Proximity assist can cause landing and takeoff issues - can be turned off in settings
  • HOTAS Inversion Fix - If your throttle is inverted you can fix this via the menu settings- Controls - Joystick 2 (For HOTAS users) and see the throttle inversion setting to Yes. This will make it so that it starts off inverted by default.

All controls and key mappings can be found in game by accessing your options menu (press ESC) and looking for the Key Bindings tab. The same options allow you to rebind your keyboard layout and gamepad controller settings as you prefer.

Alpha 3.10 Targeting Notes:

  • Added cycling of Selected targets in the view cone. Targets now iterate in order of angular offset to the look direction (closest to - center first). Auto-selection is disabled while cycling, and turns on again once the player is no longer actively cycling.
  • Added the cycling of Locked targets in the view cone. Targets now iterate in order of angular offset to the look direction (closest to center first).
  • Added the cycling of all Locked targets in range, including those outside the player view cone. Can cycle hostiles, friendlies, attackers, and all targets. Each list will be sorted by distance (closest first). 'Lock Nearest Target' functionality is now implemented as 'Cycle Lock - - Reset to Closest'.
  • Order of targets to be cycled over will now be cached until the player is no longer actively cycling, or they reset the list. Which target - will be cycled to is now more predictable as a result.
  • Added ability to Lock the target under the reticle. By default, this shares a keybind with cycling Locked targets in view, but acts - contextually (if something is under the reticle, lock it, else cycle). Can be rebound to separate keys.
